Meridian to Memphis

This was a bittersweet morning.

We met outside our cabins and headed to the dining hall.  We talked and enjoyed the company of those around us while we dined on scrambled eggs, bacon, and homemade cinnamon rolls.

When we exited the hall, we slowly made our way back to the cabins.  We packed, and then walked to chapel.  I think it was an emotional morning for everyone.

We listened as Emily Rew, one of the counselors, sang.  We prayed.  We watched as past counselors gave Vance a memory album, filled with their own collected pictures over the years.  After the service, I watched as Scott said goodbye to his friends.

I am so thankful that we were able to take part in something so momentous.  It was a very meaningful weekend.  This is an amazing camp for amazing children, and I will never forget my experience there.
