On Thursday, July 1st, I christened my twenty-fifth year of life with joy, God’s glory, new friendship, and love. And Muddy’s cupcakes.
It’s their favorite game: fetch-the-stick-that’s-bigger-than-you!
God blessed us with a beautiful morning and so the dogs and I drove out to Shelby Farms and enjoyed the quiet, beautiful splendor of rolling, green hills and a cool lake. It brought me so much joy to see my dogs happy, and just being outside under the sunshine was an amazing feeling.

After spending the morning at the park, I changed and met Scott’s mom and Shea at Swanky’s for a birthday lunch. I felt so loved having a girls’ day out. Grafton was there, too! We played at Cotton Tails and then we all went to Muddy’s for the best cupcakes ever! I feel so blessed to have spent time with them.

Then it was right on to TCBY for some more sweet treats with my friends from church, Ashley and Allie. Ashley treated me to a smoothie, and then we walked over to Anthropologie for my first ever visit. Everything had lively patterns and I fell in love with their bedding. We shopped, admired unaffordable clothes, and then walked through the other boutiques in Saddle Creek. I liked Francesca’s, and bought a lacy vest, which was, of course, on sale!
At J. Crew, Ashley and I left Micaela, who had joined us earlier, and I went home to prepare for a private dinner with Scott. Little did I expect to come over to a full house of friends, good food, and more cupcakes! We stayed up late enjoying the nice weather, and laughing at the trifecta of Hawaiian shirts. The night ended with a hug from Scott, and I was completely overjoyed.
I had a very blessed birthday, and I am so thankful for all the messages, phone calls, texts, and friends I saw that day. It really made me feel special. Love itself is the greatest gift you can give to anyone, and because I felt so loved, there is no other way I could have imagined to launch the newest year of my life!
I'm so glad you had a great bday! Wish I could've been there to celebrate with you! Love ya!
